Torah Day School 8th Graders Dive Into Financial Literacy

Most Career and Financial Services clients are over the age of 40, but this week was all about teaching the next generation. Brenda Butnick, JFS Financial Coach, and Lacey Mathews, School Psychologist, visited Torah Day School of Dallas to teach 8th graders about financial literacy.

For many of the 48 students who joined the workshops, this was their first time learning about money management. They talked about saving and spending wisely, taking responsibility for their finances, and how different career and lifestyle choices can shape their futures.

Students also explored how choosing the right college major could lead to a fulfilling career and what kind of salaries they might expect in those careers.

The classrooms were lively with questions and excitement as students shared their dreams and began connecting the dots between their financial choices and their future goals. Brenda and Lacey left the school feeling inspired by the enthusiasm of these students, knowing they had planted seeds of confidence and knowledge that will help these students grow into financially savvy adults.
