Since opening its doors in March of this year, JFS’s newest extension, the Northpoint Health Center, has experienced a busy and productive few months filled with community outreach and growth. Dr. Heather Esquivel, Chief Medical Officer of JFS, along with the clinic staff, have participated in multiple health fairs, including the JCC Senior Expo and the Network of Community Ministries Health Fair, where they provided free glucose and blood pressure screenings to community members and helped spread the word about the clinic’s services.
The clinic also plans to offer numerous back-to-school opportunities to support young families in the Greater Dallas community throughout the summer. Northpoint has appointments available, and our experienced family physician is ready to administer vaccines required for pre-K through 7th-grade students. The clinic will also participate in the Watermark Urgent Care Back to School Health Days in July and August, where Watermark will provide free physicals, and JFS will be present as a health fair vendor.
Beyond affordable and accessible health care, the clinic will be hosting free informational sessions about Medicare, led by Matt Gonzales from GetMcare LLC Agency during the months of June, July, and August. These sessions are free and open to all community members, regardless of whether they are patients of the clinic, clients of JFS, or just interested in joining. The sessions will address questions about Medicare and explain the various options available.
Thanks to our generous donors, Northpoint has received funds to provide home health devices for uninsured patients with chronic diseases, such as blood pressure monitors, glucose meters, pulse oximeters, and weight scales. These devices will be given to patients in need who may not be able to afford them on their own.
Our clinic is open five days a week, and we welcome all patients regardless of age, race, religion, or ethnicity. We accept most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
