AT&T Connected Learning Center Partners with Dallas College to Launch Successful ESL Program

The AT&T Connected Learning Center, a learning space provided through a grant received by the JFS Career and Financial Services Department, has partnered with Dallas College to offer ESL (English as a Second Language) classes to the community.

The first class of eight adult students graduated in December. The second ESL course, which began in February, currently has 11 students, with several continuing to build on what they learned in the initial class.

Since enrolling in the ESL course, students learned about other services at JFS, including the Food Pantry for grocery assistance, or the Northpoint Health Center, highlighting JFS’s comprehensive approach to care, which focuses on addressing individual needs across various areas.

We want to congratulate one ESL student who recently secured a new job at her child’s elementary school! Her improved English proficiency played a crucial role in landing the position, and she thanked the program for helping her gain confidence with her English skills in the workplace.
