Since 1950, Jewish Family Service has evolved to meet the needs of the Greater Dallas community. Each of you, along with those who came before, are an integral part of our organization. Throughout our history, JFS has stood as a cornerstone of the community, serving as a philanthropic institution, a service organization, and a leadership training ground. Whether you watched your parents or grandparents serve on our board, participated in JFS through your B’nai Mitzvah project, moved to town and sought ways to give back, or were inspired to contribute after a loved one benefited from our services, you have played a vital role.
Often, our supporters don’t witness the direct impact of their contributions. You may not see the single mom shopping for the last time in our food pantry, the smile on a man’s face as he completes his Microsoft Office class, a teenager finishing their last therapy session, or a family finding safety in a new apartment after escaping violence.
These moments may not be captured on film or recorded in history books, but they are pivotal in the lives of the thousands we serve. As our services expanded to meet community needs, you were there to lend a hand. Through every crisis or disaster, you have shown up to volunteer your time, talent, and treasure.
Now, we have arrived at another significant moment. This year, we celebrate 75 years of Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas!
Over the next 12 months as we celebrate JFS’s 75th anniversary, we invite you to join us in shaping the future of JFS as we strive to meet this moment. Our Meeting the Moment campaign is the catalyst for realizing our vision of self-sufficiency and well-being for all. Below are just a few of the many opportunities you will have to celebrate and share in these extraordinary occasions with us.
- Celebrate the purchase and kick-off of renovations for our new home on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
- Commemorate and celebrate the 75th Anniversary of JFS on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
- Celebrate the conclusion of our 75th Anniversary year and the success of our Meeting the Moment campaign in the Fall of 2025.
Over the coming weeks and months, through the activities above and many others, you will continue to learn more about ways to join us in our Meeting the Moment Campaign and 75th Anniversary celebrations. None of this would be possible without the generations of support from our community, so we look forward to celebrating these important milestones with you. Thank you for being part of this moment.
