The Roseland Counseling Center was created in July of 2019 through a partnership of the Roseland Partners and Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas to provide mental health counseling and supportive services to the Roseland residents and surrounding neighborhoods.

Taylor Matern, MA, LPC Associate

Taylor Matern is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Jessica Castillo, Psy.D. and Christine M. Koehler, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S, ADS. She completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas and her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Colorado Christian University. She is a dedicated and compassionate behavioral health clinician with a background in community engagement, education, crisis, and activism. Taylor understands therapy as a collaborative process between the client and the therapist where the client can explore various parts of themselves in a safe, empathic, and understanding environment. Taylor’s therapeutic approach centers on empathy, active listening, and evidence-based techniques. She firmly believes in tailoring her methods to meet the unique needs of each individual, supporting them on their path to healing and personal growth.


Jessica Castillo, PsyD

Dr. Jessica Castillo is currently doing her post-doctoral residency at the Roseland Mental Health Clinic, a program by Jewish Family Service that started in 2019.  Dr. Castillo earned her doctoral degree (PsyD) in clinical psychology from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a renowned APA accredited and academic institution. Dr. Castillo has substantive experience working with children and youth in the schools and in the community. Dr. Castillo has extensive training in treatment models for child traumatic stress and uses evidence-based practices such as TF-CBT and EMDR. Dr. Castillo considers herself a gentle and humble therapist and enjoys making her children feel at ease and helping caregivers navigate the different stressors that come with this role. Dr. Castillo is excited to serve the Roseland community!
