In thinking about JFS Dallas, I’m reminded of the deep roots this agency has within our community and within my own family. For more than two decades, the Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas Edna Zale Building—named after my mother—has served as a cornerstone of hope and support for countless individuals and families of all faiths and ethnicities.
Our family Foundation, the M.B. and Edna Zale Foundation, has supported JFS year after year to help ensure that anyone who walks through those doors can receive the help they need. My parents set the standard by sharing what little they had with others during the Great Depression and World War II. For me, JFS is more than a nonprofit; it’s a part of our family legacy, a mission I’m deeply committed to advancing.
Being on the Meeting the Moment campaign leadership team is a natural continuation of my connection to JFS. I’ve said it before, I would do anything to help this agency, to make sure it can keep reaching those who need us most. Whether offering financial support or volunteering my time, every step feels like a way to honor my parent’s legacy and to strengthen the very community they cherished.
Visiting the new JFS building with my family was a proud moment. I am in awe of how JFS continues to evolve to meet community needs. In their 75th anniversary year, JFS Dallas will be renovating their new 100,000-square-foot facility to expand their services, grow their endowment, and create sustainable structures to ensure they are here to serve our community for decades to come.
Today, I’m inviting you to join me in supporting JFS through this campaign. Every gift—large or small—helps sustain the programs that are so essential to our Greater Dallas community. Together, let’s ensure JFS can continue meeting the moment for all who turn to them.
