Meeting The Moment Spotlight: Deborah Leibensberger

In 2002, I came across a Dallas Morning News ad for a position in JFS’s Older Adult department, and I had no idea it would lead to a 22-year journey that has shaped my life and the lives of our clients.

Over the years, I’ve witnessed the incredible power of compassion and community. From delivering kosher meals to offering specialized care for Holocaust survivors, our team at JFS has been dedicated to ensuring older adults can live with dignity and independence in their own homes for as long as possible.

As I’ve worked with this population, I’ve discovered something heartbreaking: aging often makes people invisible.

I’m so passionate about ensuring every older adult who needs us feels seen, and can count on the support, care, and resources they deserve. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that aging is a privilege, and being an advocate for this generation is an honor.

Everyone deserves to have someone looking out for them.

At JFS, we support every stage of life because all aspects of health matter, especially as we age. Our holistic care for older adults addresses physical, emotional, nutritional, and financial well-being. Finding doctors and specialists can be difficult, especially for older adults, which is why I’m proud that the JFS Northpoint Health Center provides primary care for patients with all types of insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Every day, I see how deeply JFS impacts lives, which is why I’m proud to have dedicated 22 years of my life to this work.

If you believe in our mission, please support our Meeting the Moment campaign. Your donations help us provide care and dignity for older adults, ensuring no one feels invisible as they age.
