Virtual Support/Book Group (Age 50+)
October 23, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Friday, repeating until December 11, 2020
This Virtual Support Group discusses “The Gift of imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You are Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are” by Brene Brown
Jewish Family Service (JFS) is offering a new support group for adults ages 50+ to explore ways to engage more fully with life, even while living in uncertain times during COVID. The support group will use various books to discover new approaches to facing life’s challenges. We will begin with Brene Brown’s book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You are Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.* This delightful book describes how living with courage, compassion, and connection can help us to cultivate the ability to feel worthy and to accept and love ourselves for who we are right now.
The support group will meet every other Friday via zoom from 11am – 12 noon beginning Friday, October 23, 2020 for eight sessions. Together, we will explore Brene’s “Ten Guideposts to Wholehearted Living” and apply these strategies to our daily lives.
