The Annual JFS Diaper Shower began in 2011 and has since provided over 1.5 million diapers and wipes to our community. Diapers are a basic necessity not covered by assistance programs like SNAP or WIC, making donations crucial for families. By offering free diapers and wipes through our Food Pantry, we help alleviate financial strain and ensure the well-being of nearly 70 families who visit the Food Pantry each distribution day.
This September, the 14th Annual Diaper Shower brought in an impressive total of 33,632 diapers and 48,121 wipes! Additionally, we received $6,700 in donations, which is enough to purchase 26,800 diapers for our community. With these contributions, we are proud to announce that we exceeded our goal by raising a total of 112,800 diapers and wipes for those in need.
The donated diapers included all sizes, from newborn to adult, and will be a tremendous help to community members who rely on the Food Pantry for assistance with groceries and other household items.
On behalf of the entire community, we thank those who participate in the annual Diaper Shower year after year, including the Diaper Shower founding co-chairs Julie Liberman, Beverly Rossel, and Cathy Glick for their dedication to organizing this fundraiser for the past 14 years. We also thank the partner organizations who took the time to set up donation boxes and contribute to this effort.
