As families prepare for a new school year, access to healthcare can make all the difference. At Jewish Family Service of Dallas, we’re committed to making that care easier to reach.

On July 14, JFS Dallas hosted its third annual Back-to-School Health Fair at the JFS Northpoint Health Center, welcoming 98 families, representing 441 individuals, for health screenings, school supplies, and an opportunity to learn more about our medical services. Families received blood pressure screenings, healthy after-school snack samples, backpacks filled with school supplies, and popsicles, while also having the opportunity to schedule medical appointments or connect with JFS Dallas for future care.

The event reflects the continued growth of JFS Dallas’ medical services. At the end of June, we reached a significant milestone, serving more than 1,000 unique patients and providing more than 4,000 patient visits across our three health centers. Every event, appointment, and conversation connects more individuals and families with the care they need.

“Our Back-to-School Health Fair is a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we meet families where they are,” said Britton Williams, Director of Strategic Operations, who oversees our Community Health Workers. “I was proud to watch our team create such a welcoming and supportive experience for the community.”

The Back-to-School Health Fair is one example of how JFS Dallas is removing barriers to care and helping families access the resources they need to thrive. By combining healthcare access with practical support, we’re helping children start the school year healthy, prepared, and ready to succeed.
