PNC Bank partnered with JFS Dallas to host a bilingual (English/Spanish) Budgeting workshop at Anne Frank Elementary School (Dallas ISD). The session was designed for Spanish-speaking parents in the school community, with a focus on making everyday financial tools more approachable and easier to use.
Banking professionals from PNC Bank presented in both English and Spanish so that everyone could participate in the language they felt most comfortable with. The back-and-forth between languages helped create a welcoming, inclusive environment.
One moment that stood out came from an attendee who had graduated from a 3-month ESL (English as a Second Language) class at JFS Dallas two years ago. Feeling proud of her progress, she chose to participate in English instead of Spanish, her native language, a meaningful sign of her growing confidence.
Throughout the session, parents stayed engaged, asked questions, and shared their own experiences. The conversation was active and practical, focused on real-life budgeting strategies they could begin using right away.
