Why Give to the Diaper Shower?

Diapers are not covered by government assistance programs such as SNAP or WIC, making them a significant financial burden for many families. A baby can require between 8-12 diapers a day, costing approximately $80–100 a month per child. Without enough diapers, parents may be forced to keep a baby in a soiled diaper longer than is healthy, which can lead to rashes, infections, and stress for both parent and child.

The need doesn’t stop with children. More than 40% of older adults rely on sanitary pads or other products for incontinence, and without income, these essentials can quickly become out of reach. In fact, 1 in 3 Texas families struggles to afford diapers, meaning this is an issue that could easily affect someone you know.

Since 2011, the Annual JFS Dallas Diaper Shower has collected and distributed over 1.8 million diapers and wipes through the JFS Dallas Food Pantry, where these essentials are available at no-cost to anyone in the community.

Our goal for the 2026 Diaper Shower is to collect 100,000 diapers and wipes– and with your help, we can get there.
