Hello everyone!
My name is Brenda Butnick and I’m a Financial Coach at Jewish Family Service in Dallas. I work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve financial self-sufficiency.

We discussed 2 more steps on How to Repair Your Credit in my last blog, and today we will discuss additional steps.

Repairing your credit involves a multi-step process focused on improving your credit history and score.

Here are the next 2 steps to take:

(See more steps in my next blog)

Step 5: Be Strategic with New Credit
• Avoid applying for too much new credit: Multiple credit applications in a short period can negatively impact your score.
• Keep unused credit accounts open: Closing old accounts can shorten your credit history, potentially lowering your score.
• Consider a secured credit card or credit-builder loan: These products can help you establish a positive credit history if you have limited credit.

Step 6: Consider Professional Help
• Credit counseling agencies: If you need assistance, consider working with a credit counseling agency for guidance and support.

We will discuss more steps on How to Repair Your Credit in my next post on Friday, October 31st.

That’s all for your Financial Fitness today! Until next time — take care and stay financially fit!
