This week, Jewish Family Service of Dallas hosted our annual Thanksgiving Volunteer Meeting, a special morning of gratitude for the volunteers who make our mission possible year-round.
Attendees heard exciting updates about JFS Dallas programs and got a sneak peek of the new Karla and Larry Steinberg Building, set to open in early 2026, including specially designed areas for volunteers like the volunteer break room. They heard from Michelle Cannon, Director of Community Engagement about new ways they can support our work across various programs and departments. The morning also included a Q&A with Cathy Barker, President & CEO, and Leah Guskin, Chief Advancement Officer, offering an inside look at what’s ahead for the agency.
Our volunteers dedicated over 25,000 combined hours last year to support essential programs like our food pantry, Kosher Home-Delivered Meals program, and seasonal holiday programs supporting 22,000 individuals in our community. Their compassion makes everything we do at JFS Dallas possible and strengthens our ability to provide support to families throughout Greater Dallas.
