Hello everyone! My name is Brenda Butnick and I’m a Financial Coach at Jewish Family Service of Greater Dallas. I work one-on-one with clients to help them achieve financial self-sufficiency.

We discussed two more steps on How to Repair Your Credit in my last blog, and today we’ll cover the final step in the process.

Repairing your credit involves a multi-step approach focused on improving your credit history and score.

Step 7: Monitor Your Credit Regularly
  • Check your credit reports and scores regularly: Track your progress and make sure your efforts are having a positive impact. It can take up to 30 days for corrections to appear.
  • Reminder: You can download all three free credit reports weekly at www.annualcreditreport.com.
Important Notes
  • Credit repair takes time: Improving your credit score is a gradual process.
  • Be cautious of quick fixes: Be wary of companies promising unrealistic or immediate results.
  • Focus on building positive habits: The most effective way to improve your credit is to consistently demonstrate responsible financial behavior.

We’ll discuss Best Practices to Get Out of Debt in my next post on Friday, November 14th.

That’s all for your Financial Fitness today!

Until next time – take care and stay financially fit!
