Credit card billing errors are mistakes that appear on your credit card statement. These errors can cost you money or affect your credit if not resolved quickly. Understanding the types of errors, why they happen, and how to fix them helps protect your finances.
Here are the next 3 Common Types of Credit Card Billing Errors:
Failure to Credit Payments
- Your payment was sent, but the credit card company didn’t apply it.
- A payment might also be recorded for the wrong amount.
Billing for the Wrong Person
- Charges belong to someone with a similar name or account number.
Mathematical or Posting Errors
- Totals are added incorrectly.
- Transactions are posted to the wrong billing cycle.
We will discuss Mystery Credit Card Fees in my next post on Friday, February 13th. That’s all for your Financial Fitness today! Until next time – take care and stay financially fit!
