Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following
- Assisting with the conduct of system and corridor planning studies
- Researching efficient freight planning solutions for the North Central Texas region
- Conducting work on rail-focused projects including rail/road grade crossings (i.e., analyzing at-grade crossings, writing white papers on rail movements in the region, working with railroad partners, and working on intermodal issues in the region)
- Assisting with technical analyses related to safety, operations, and traffic
- Assisting with and participating in data collection, maintenance, mapping, and analysis activities
- Assisting with the development of goals and objectives, work plans, and strategies
- Drafting and preparing oral presentations
- Updating Website information
- Drafting memorandums, letters, documentation, progress reports, articles, and annual reports for supervisor review
- Planning and attending meetings, events, and workshops
Required Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Basic working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Transportation/regional planning knowledge, with an interest in goods movement desired
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical, quantitative methods (e.g., Transportation Planning, City and Regional Planning, Geography or a related area)
- One year or less of job-related experience
Salary
Minimum of $40,446.00 annually
