Transportation Planner I #1487 – North Central Texas Council of Governments

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assisting with the development, coordination, and review of plans and improvement projects, including roadway, intersection, pedestrian/bicycle, and other capital projects
  • Coordinating with partner agencies, civic associations, and consultants on transportation projects
  • Drafting correspondence, documentation, reports, articles, meeting summaries, and executive summaries for supervisor review
  • Drafting, preparing, and delivering presentations
  • Assisting with the creation of announcements and the identification of speakers, topics, and outreach opportunities for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and other project committee meetings
  • Assisting with the creation and maintenance of databases
  • Conducting research and data collection
  • Planning, organizing, and promoting public education programs and materials related to the safety and accessibility of pedestrian and bicycle facilities
  • Providing assistance in the management of consultant contracts
  • Creating detailed project maps
  • Assisting in the conduct of spatial analysis and data editing

  • Ability to use Windows-based computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher; working knowledge of Teams, SharePoint, and Smartsheet a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite design software (Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) a plus
  • Experience working with the public desired

Required Experience

  • Work requires a Bachelorโ€™s degree inย analytical, quantitative methods (i.e., urban/transportation planning, landscape architecture, etc.)
  • One year of job-related experience or less

Starting Salary Range

Minimum of $42,347.00 โ€“ $50,816.40 annually
