Program Specialist I #S04342P – University of Texas at Dallas

The Program Specialist serves as a team member in the Student Success Center to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of the Student Success Center, the SI Program Specialist is responsible for assisting with the planning and implementation of the SI program designed to improve grades and reduce the DFW rates. The Program Specialist will be responsible for session scheduling, approving timesheets, running reports, maintaining textbook inventory, assisting with leader observations, and hiring, training and supervising leaders. This position will require some evening hours as many SI services are delivered to students outside of regular business hours.

Conduct ongoing training in conjunction with SSC staff.

Assist in the development, implementation, administration and marketing of SI.

Assist with serving as a liaison between students, faculty, staff and other departments and/or external constituencies on a day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative and fiscal issues.

Monitor and approve student leader timesheets.

Create and oversee SI leader schedule, make and confirm arrangements for facilities.

Assist with the daily tasks, functioning and performance of SI Leaders.

Assist with the development and facilitation of weekly, monthly, and semester trainings for SI Leaders.

Assist with management of College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) tutor mentor training hours.

Maintain and update textbook inventory.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, with a minimum of four years of experience in program/project development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
