Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Drafting publication, website, and social media content
- Assisting with the development of social media graphics and messaging
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of social media policy and strategy documents
- Assisting with the collection and reporting of social media data including department efforts and for specific campaigns
- Assisting with the development of an overall social media strategy and editorial calendar
- Researching new opportunities and best practices for social media platforms
- Assisting with the gathering of transportation-related news stories for staff distribution
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of databases, including entering data, for a variety of initiatives
- Maintaining reports on the outreach and effectiveness of public involvement efforts
- Assisting with web updates
- Assisting with evaluation of communications/outreach elements through data tracking and analysis
- Assisting with elements of marketing/outreach campaigns
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, organized, creative, and ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Required Experience
- Must be attending an accredited college or university during employment. Pursuit of a degree in public relations, communications or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- No work experience required, at least one year of school-related experience preferred
Starting Salary
Minimum of $15.00 per hour
