Director of Equity Policy Education #S04391P – University of Texas at Dallas

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Equity Policy, Education and Administration, the Director provides leadership, support and administration of learning and development programs related to equity policies and practices impacting faculty, staff, and students. The Director serves as a strategic leader and advisor on matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) education, training, and professional development programs within the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI) and for the university as a whole.

We are seeking candidates who can lead and work collaboratively in teams comprised of individuals of diverse backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and facilitation skills and will demonstrate a strong commitment to principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Works collaboratively with ODEI leadership in the planning, development and implementation of strategic initiatives for improving and strengthening efforts toward cultivating a culture of equity and inclusion on the campus.
  • Works collaboratively with institutional leaders and campus stakeholders to identify and address barriers to equity for students, staff and faculty from marginalized identities with an emphasis on learning and development programs around policy and practice.
  • Develops strategies for ODEI and the university to address institutional needs related to equity policies and practices.
  • Serves as a convener and facilitator of the ODEI Education and Professional Development Working Group comprised of stakeholders from across campus.
  • Works collaboratively with campus stakeholders to develop learning and development programs for new employees, employees with management responsibilities, hiring managers, faculty search committee members, student leaders, student employees and other key constituencies.
  • Identifies marketing and outreach channels to promote DEI learning and development opportunities for members of the university community.
  • Serves as chairperson of the ODEI Learning Committee to foster a culture of lifelong learning among professional staff in ODEI.
  • Provides leadership, support and administration for the Equity Policy Education team’s operations, programs and services, including establishing equitable and inclusive practices for hiring, supervising and evaluating personnel.
  • Develops budget proposals, forecasts and tracks expenditures, and ensures expenditures and recordkeeping are compliant with university and external funders’ requirements.
  • Identifies and implements best practices in DEI learning and development.
  • Provides leadership for the creation and implementation of strategic goals, plans for assessment, annual reporting, continuous improvement, and accountability for the department.
  • Represents UT Dallas at external events and meetings, and engages in outreach to prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community.
  • Initiates, supports and participates in the development of DEI-related grant proposals and fundraising; stewards relationships with donors.


Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related progressive experience.
