Career Management Center Associate Director #S03924P – University of Texas at Dallas

This position serves the unique needs of the Full-Time MBA classes. This person will be fully dedicated to working with this specific audience to create and organize networking and career opportunities with employers eager to hire MBA students. This position will be in a fast-paced external networking environment. This position will report to the Assistant Dean of the Career Management Center and will supervise the MBA Program Manager.

  • Work with the Assistant Dean of CMC to increase the companies that work with UT Dallas on specific MBA hiring programs as well as creating and ranking company lists
  • Work with the Assistant Dean of CMC to manage the CMC’s monthly, semester, and yearly KPI and metrics to include salary and placement data for the MBA students
  • Create growth in the companies hiring MBA students
  • Create, develop, and oversee workshops, coffee chats, industry panels, lunch and learns, site visits, and professional events with employers for the Full-time MBA students (FTMBA) students each semester
  • Understand the needs of employers and seek out internship and full-time opportunities for FTMBA
  • Create, develop, and nurture relationships with MBA hiring companies
  • Maintain relationships/partnerships with employers is a key component of this role
  • Passing along FTMBA resumes to employers
  • Create and deliver events to educate groups on industry information, job search techniques, professionalism
  • Engage 100% in support of MBA Lead Camp (2-week FTMBA training in August)
  • Track the progress of each student and communicate status in regards to internship and full-time job opportunities
  • Track percentages and salaries for groups and compare them with previous years and targets for professional surveys
  • Communicate with MBA Team to understand opportunities with specific employers and ensure students are aware of opportunities provided by the JSOM CMC and ensure CMC staff are pushing appropriate students where they fit
  • Influence students where direction is needed
  • Work with students to perfect resumes, LinkedIn profiles, cover letters, company target lists, timelines, etc. as needed to support the MBA Program Manager
  • Work with students to determine their career direction based on goals, marketability, and the current job market
  • Create and deliver a curriculum to educate groups on industry information, job search techniques, and professionalism


Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 5-7 years related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
